On 5-6 September, an international research conference From Neuron To Brain, timed to coincide with the official opening of a neurobiology research laboratory at university’s Fundamental Medicine and Biology Institute, established in 2011 on the grounds of Kazan Federal University within a ‘mega grant’ from government of Russia.
The international conference will open at 9 am on 5 September at the Lobachevsky library’s conference hall.
The official laboratory opening will take place at 5 pm on 5 September at the Fundamental Medicine and Biology Institute.
Leading Russian and foreign researchers – neubiologists came to Kazan. Vice-Rector for Research, Danis Nurgaliev, greeted conference participants and guests on the solemn ceremony of opening.
Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, Andrey Kiyasov, reminded that Kazan neurophysiological school was founded in 1860-s in the walls of Kazan Imperial University due to Professor Philipp Ovsyannikov who came here.
Scientific program of the event was opened by Professor Rusten Khazipov who made a report on Physiology of developing brain.
This conference will last for two days. Along with Kazan scholars, scientists from Moscow, France and Finland will speak about Neurophysiology and state-of-the-art research in Neuroscience. Representatives of INSERM (French Academy of Medical Sciences) also attend this event. It is expected that KFU will expand scientific cooperation in various spheres with INSERM.
